Hey Everyone,
Hope this email grinds you well. (Get it? Like “Hope this email finds you well” but with more hustle? Anyway.)
A little while back I had an idea for a funny hat and so I opened Adobe Illustrator and tinkered around with it until it felt right.
It was a fun little exercise and the ideas kept flowing to the point where soon I had a small “collection” of outdoor-themed merchandise ideas. Like the hat above, they’re all more-or-less inspired by existing outdoor brands and garments, but with a Special Hustle Twist. Scroll down to see some more of the inspirations and their implementations in what I decided to call the ‘Unbuilt Environment’ collection.
That’s the basic idea. There are around 20 products total, based on 8 or so base designs. Everything is done as print-on-demand, so there’s none of this stuff sitting in a warehouse gathering dust. Should you choose to place an order, items will be shipped directly from the production facility to you.
Within what the various print-on-demand services offer, I’ve tried to use the highest quality and most reliable products I could find. That means a little bit of a premium on pricing, but my hope (and confident expectation!) is that none of this stuff will feel “cheap” or fall apart after two washes. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

It’s an understatement to say that the environment is in trouble right now. Fires, floods, pollution, deforestation—all bad news. The structural changes required to meaningfully fix things are way outside my expertise or agency, but I hope we can all find little ways to make things a little better. In that spirit, I’m going to be donating 50% of the profits from this collection to organizations working on environmental justice, mutual aid, and climate policy. This will be a straight five-way split, so each organization or group comes out with 10% of the profits. Depending on the item type, size, etc. this will come out to around $0.50-$1.50 going to each organization with every item sold.
The five groups this collection supports are:
If you have a few minutes to spare, please check out these organizations and what they do and consider supporting them in other ways as well.
And one last tiny bit of housekeeping: the physical editions of the Welcome To The Grind pamphlet are at the printers at this very minute. If you’d like your own print copy, there are still some available for preorder here.
Well, that’s all I have to share today.
Happy trails,
THA
