Hello Again And Welcome To The Sixth Day Of Grindmas!
(If you missed the fifth day of Grindmas, you can find it here.)
We’re just about halfway through our Grindmas journey together. I’ve already shared a few products I’ve made, and there are a few more still to come, including some one-of-a-kind auction items.
But today I want to highlight some other people making and selling great stuff that I think anyone reading this newsletter would enjoy. There are t-shirts and prints and tote bags and trinkets and everything in between. So skip the lines at BezosMart this year and check these out instead!
Sam Jacob Studio
You may know Sam’s work from the architectural practice FAT, or his more recent work with Sam Jacob studio. But did you know that same vibrant, witty energy extends to a line of clothing and accessories? If that hasn’t already piqued your interest, these three words should: Brick Shower Curtain.
Adam Nathaniel Furman
It’s hard to know where to start with Adam’s merchandise. There’s so much of it and it’s all so great. Click the link above for apparel, accessories, pillows, and home goods featuring iconic works of architecture and a variety of Furman’s own designs. (I personally have my eye on this print of Peter Barber’s McGrath Road project…)
Wonder City Studio
Wonder City (formerly known as Cape Horn Illustration) is a Chicago-based illustration and ceramics studio. Their love of all things Chicago architecture is abundantly clear, but they do occasionally venture outside the Midwest, as in this series of illustrations celebrating major marathon races around the world.
Runcible Studios
Runcible, founded by architect Marilyn Moedinger, is an architecture firm with offices in Boston, MA, and Lancaster, PA. In addition to a great portfolio of built work, they offer a delightful selection of tote bags, greeting cards, and stickers. Let your laptop or water bottle proudly announce: “I CAN BUILD THAT.”
The New York Review of Architecture
NYRA features some of the most interesting and exciting writing happening about architecture today—and despite the name, their coverage frequently journeys beyond New York.1 They’ve also recently launched NYRA Editions, which are some extremely cool limited edition works by artists, architects, and designers.
Check out back issues, hats, and more at the link above or—even better—subscribe today.
Archinect Outpost
Archinect is widely loved for their coverage of current events, extensive forums, and great tools for architects of any experience level like the Archinect Salary Poll. The Outpost section of their site has some great gift ideas, including Brutalist holiday postcards and the best coffee beans on Earth.
Cereal Box Studio
I had a wonderful time working with Cereal Box Studio earlier this year on the print version of Welcome To The Grind. Their body of work is such a rich collection of colors, textures, and novel binding options. Anyone who likes printed things should check them out. Consider a subscription to receive a range of lovingly-produced objects, or perhaps check out this amazing 2023 calendar.
That’s it for today—I hope you see some stuff you love!
Grindmas resumes tomorrow with six more things. I’ll see you there.

In the interest of 100% transparency: I’ve been doing illustrations for the back cover of the most recent issues and so am technically kind of on the payroll of Big NYRA. But I’d be making all the same recommendations even if I had no connection to the review—it’s just that good!
